Academic Navigation. It means to play along with academics even when you know they're wrong. Said academics may dumb down questions and mark you wrong if you answer with an advanced, and correct, statement. So, to get the right answer, you have to answer with a wrong statement.

The answers were burning fossil fuels, cellular respiration, volcanism, and photosynthesis. I thought all of them did because a study said that photosynthesis released trace amounts of carbon dioxide. So, I answered volcanism because it releases carbon dioxide, but also other gasses. I was marked wrong and the teacher said photosynthesis didn't release carbon dioxide."
