rhetorical hashtag

Much like a rhetorical question, a rhetorical hashtag is a hashtag used in a tweet to produce an effect or make a statement, rather than for the generally intended purpose of hashtag, which is to connect the tweet with other tweets using the same tag and make it searchable. Rhetorical hashtags are often used to inject humor and sarcasm, or even to clarify what the tweet pertains to. Occasionally they are used to make passive aggressive jabs at others. They are sometimes long and made up of many words strung together.
Some examples of tweets using rhetorical hashtags: "I'm awake. #crap" "So @thinkgeek is hiring product testers? They should totally hire me to take care of that for them. #onlyhalfkidding" "Sure, I'll let my little brother borrow my new car. #overmydeadbody #worstdriverever"

Sharon really goes overboard with the rhetorical hashtags. She can hardly tweet without adding something like #holyhellwhyisthishappeningtomeagain. I wish she'd shut up and quit whining.

Action Hashtag

1.) A hashtag that describes the caption of any given social media post. These words, emoji, or combination of words and emoji can be used for positive or negative effect on a post, and improper usage of action hashtags can turn a normal post cryptic or even unlikable.

2.) A relatable hashtag that uses an action to summarize the description of a social media post

1.) While they're on vacation they only use action hashtags on their instagram photos

2.) They used a series of cryptic emoji action hashtags to describe their relationship status

3.) Bobby uploaded a photo of their cousin with a with a eggplant, waterfall, and peach emoji, confusing everyone

4.) Followers immediately understood op was throwing shade when op dropped a snake emoji in their comment section

the procedure of affixing appropriate signifiers (nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, etc.) to a hashtag in order for a posting on an social media platform to be accurately catalogued for ease of referencing and cross-referencing.

You don't have to hashtag your music after you post it to Soundcloud, but it helps users find it more easily.

A Facebook Hashtag is seemingly pointless as a hashtag used on Facebook doesn't fulfill the typical function of the metadata tag. In all reality, it is a delightful little tool that is used to annoy and troll the masses-- most commonly those of the Stanley kin.

The use of hashtags in real life situations. Signified by saying out loud the word "human hashtag" followed by a phrase that would in fact be a hashtag if used on a social networking sight. Often accompanied by the action of laying the pointer and middle fingers of one hand over the pointer and middle fingers of the other hand.
