Ordinarily drinking this caustic cocktail would severely injure or even kill you, of course, but I guess dat da idea here is dat Jack and Rochester are "such big tough guys" dat day can easily handle consuming it without any significant ill effects --- most likely they'd just get an adranoline rush.
