Celebrity

In a sense I agree with all of the definitions here. However, a distiction must be drawn between celebrities and actors/musicians. Actors/musicians work relatively hard to become succesful in there chosen profession, and despite all the contests that provides lazy TV execs with reality TV, very few actors/musicians make it big. A celebrity on the other hand is somewhat opposite, i.e. they are famous without trying very hard to earn fame.
Actor - Johnny Depp
Musician - Dave Ghrol (Please forgive me if i've misspelled his name)
Celebrity - Paris Hilton

Celebrity Chaser

People that position themselves within certain circles of friends to appear as though they are friends with celebrities. Often, the actual celebrity is stupid enough to consider a celebrity chaser to be a real friend or acquaintance. A celebrity chaser typically resides in Los Angeles and holds a degree from the University of Southern California.
All of Leinart's "friends" in Los Angeles are celebrity chasers that are seeking a full-time role on MTV's "The Hills."

Celebritism

A devastating social disorder where a person wants to achieve celebrity without any work. Symptoms present themselves in: the desire to be famous (or becoming famous) for doing absolutely nothing, entitlement issues, excessive Twitter activity; amassing an army of facebook friends for no particular purpose (i.e. showingcasing one's art, reel, portfolio, etc.) other than to garner attention. The sufferer is often deluded by the idea that one can be "made" a celebrity if enough people follow or friend them. Other signs of the disorder can include creating and/or "leaking" your own sex tape, public photos without underwear, inability to form or maintain genuine relationships, the title of "socialite", and rich parents who might have actually accomplished something in their lifetime.
Dr. Kibblesauce: Celebritism is becoming rampant among today's youth...a crippling disorder my research shows to have originated with Paris Hilton and mutated in Kim Kardashian. It is also closely associated with Los Angelism.

John (on Twitter): Yay! I'm up to 3442 friends on facebook!
Jane: Dude, you gotta tone down the celebritism...you only know 42 of them!

Meg (tweeting about her dog): Apparently Cherie's surgery went really well. (Thank goodness!!) She's in recovery now. #getwellsooncherie
Guy: Who the fu©k cares?? God, I wanna smack that bitch then go eat a cheeseburger.

Web Celebrity

A web celebrity is an individual
whose fame is primarily derived from their Internet presence. Many of the top web
celebs have a proven following that rivals popular television programs.
Specifically, the iStardom Top 10 has a fan base exceeding 8 million people.

Web celebrities are an entirely new breed of stars and ones that have rising
influence," said Daisy Whitney, TelevisionWeek's new media reporter and host of
the New Media Minute. Brand marketers, production companies, and
traditional media should pay attention to who's hot online and find creative
ways to partner with them.
A web celebrity is someone whose primary source of fame originates from the Internet." This is in contrast to news sources, movies, TV, books, etc.

celebrity baby names

Curious onomastic phenomenon amongst celebrity couples, whereby they attempt to exceed each other with the absurdity of the names they give to their children. In an attempt to avoid convention, celebrities appear to select their names by playing darts against a wall-mounted world map, taking them from a translation book or Starbucks menu, and if all else fails, make it up. Little regard is given to the psychological trauma they will inflict on their children, until it is too late.
