Get the Crumpet bashing mug.A trade term. Describing the rapid installing of a basic air conditioning system. Usually comprising of one indoor and one outdoor unit, with interconnecting pipes and wiring.
It is a relatively uncomplicated refrigeration task, made easier by the lack of risk presented with perishable goods. Subsequently, it is the lucrative sole focus of some refrigeration businesses. Requiring minimum certification, and for engineers (“split bashers”) to have only a basic understanding of pipework and wiring.
As systems are readily available to the public, installation may also be attempted by other trades where they’ve gained a degree of confidence and understanding in it.
