International Court of Justice

(MULTILATERAL GOVERNMENT) Also known as the world court; tribunal for trying civil cases, i.e., court cases involving torts, liabilities, and disputes in international law. Separate and distinct from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Based in the Hague, a coastal city in the Netherlands.

The Court is composed of 15 judges, who are elected for terms of office of nine years by the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council. It is assisted by a Registry, its administrative organ. Its official languages are English and French.

Only States (States Members of the United Nations and other States which have become parties to the Statute of the Court or which have accepted its jurisdiction under certain conditions) may be parties to contentious cases.
The International Court of Justice was created in 1945 by the UN Charter. Unfortunately, the USA withdrew from ICJ jurisdiction in 1986*, and only accepts its involvement on a case-by-case basis.

_____________________
*The Reagan Administration withdrew from the ICJ when the later ruled that the USA was in violation of the UN Charter by mining the territorial waters of Nicaragua, etc.

internal assessment

The internal assessment, also known more commonly as the IA is a part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Taking the form of an extremely long essay, or in depth lab, the internal assessments need to be done for each of the students 7 core subjects.
IB Student 1: Dude the Biology internal assessment is due tomorrow I haven't even started....
IB Student 2: I have to write both my Biology IA and History IA by next month. Kill me now

IB Student 1: I think this is a good time for us to drop out of IB.

IB Student 2: Agreed. These internal assessments are so pointless

International School Aberdeen

Some absolute mad house for kids with poor social skills. Foreigners are welcomed by the loving community of bullies and drug addicts that should help anyone feel right at home. Education is adequate and the real reason people go there is to enjoy the excellent learning support offered at no additional cost. Oh, but tuition is over 20k.
I do so love attending the International School Aberdeen.

International Arman Month

International Arman Month, or IAM for short, is a holiday that falls every year on the 14th of November, up until December 15th commemorating Armanpreet Singh of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, 53154. He is celebrated during this month long period with thoughts, gifts, and money. Nobody is allowed to ask Arman to do their ALEKS topics during this month as it is his break. Nobody is allowed to snitch on Arman and he gets food when he asks for it. National Arman Month or NAM was established in 2021 by Diella Bita and Jude Al Shamali, but has since changed to include global celebrators of the holiday.
