A self-righteous person acts superior to her peers because she believes her moral standards are perfect. This "moral smugness" is condescending by nature and is usually found offensive by others.

The typical mentality of the Western woman is that she is always right no matter what, thus driving away a lot of self-respecting guys with her self-righteous attitude.
