crunch time

The interval of time immediately before a project is due, when it becomes apparent that the schedule has slipped and everyone is going to have to work like dogs to try to complete the project in time. Crunch time usually occurs during the period between the next-to-last scheduled milestone (prior to which everyone was able to delude themselves tht the schedule had NOT slipped) and the final deadline for delivery. During crunch time, workers are in crunch mode. Prevalent in the software industry, but used elsewhere as well.

"We've got three weeks left to complete six weeks worth of work. Looks like we'll be living on take-out for a while."

"I freakin' hate crunch time."

Parents Television Council

A website that I use to determine which shows are the best. The shows that the PTC whines the most about are clearly worth watching, and the ones that they give their seal of approval to are to be avoided at all costs.

They are currently ranked 'World-Class' in their whining abilities.

So, Parents Television Council, why do you whine about shows that are on at 9pm, when kids have already gone to sleep? Why do you have such an unhealthy obsession with Seth MacFarlane?

Ad Council

Perhaps the single greatest inducement toward Gen-X drug use. Ad Council's often condescending and histrionic tone, matched with a transparent agenda, led invariably to mockery by the very audience it sought to reach. Shame that Ad Council will forever be linked with frying eggs and Nancy Reagan's glassy-eyed pronouncements, but it's their own damn fault.
