When an author/director/etc. gives hints, and clever twists to paint a character as possibly being queer, to satisfy queer audiences, but never outright says they are so they can keep their heterosexual audience.

June- I love watching Supernatural! Dean and Castiel are ABSOLUTELY gay!
Micheal- But they never said they were, and cast and director haven't said they were either.
June- Yeah, but they totally act gay!
Micheal- Sounds like they're queer baiting you, so you'll continue to watch.

hater baiting 

1) Behaving in a manner that is intended to provoke haters.
2) Attempting to trick closet haters into revealing their true nature by stunting or flossing around them.
3) Enjoying your money without worrying about who's going to get jealous.

I usually don't care what other guys think of me when I go out, but sometimes I break out the good clothes and drive the Escalade to the club for a little harmless hater baiting.

Someone who is extremely bait (meaning they are very obvious about something that usually shouldn't be done,against the rules, or illegal) this includes talking about someone while they are near, cheating on a test, being a punk bits, or flirting with different bitses at the same time.

Master baiter 

On an internet forum, a master baiter is someone who is an expert at starting ''bait threads'', meaning threads that aim to provoke quick responses and arouse emotions in people. Usually this means that the thread topic itself is part of the bait.

John Doe is a master baiter, because he likes to start bait threads that provoke shitloads of reactions from people. His most recent bait thread was called ''Monsanto is not all that bad''.

Derived from the slang 'bait', a person of questionable judgement; a liability and embarrasment to others around him.
Thus, 'Baitster' refers to an individual who has consistently exhibited 'baitness', ergo, 'baitster'.
