3. a large sum to common people.

1. If you have 2 dollars and separate that lot into 2 lots, each lot could contain 1 dollar or something like that.

2. I paid 381 dollars for my new car radio. Gee, that's a lot of money, I don't even have a car.

Used after being praised for doing a good job. A not so subtle way of hinting at a raise. It is usually said after a person has become intoxicated and they may regret saying it afterwards, especially if used multiple times.

Boss: Vic, you've been doing good work recently.
Vic: Put the money in my pocket.
Boss: I'm happy that you got the last project done on time.
Vic: Put the money in my pocket.
