Watching a YouTube or Twitch channel, TikTok, or TV show for 20 minutes just to “unwind” and then spending the rest of your day (or weeks) invested in everything that happens.

The difference between this and just becoming “a fan” is the level of commitment. This distinction includes one or more of the following:
Trying to slide into DMs
Ongoing engagement in chats, comments, or fan boards
Creating or consuming fan fiction or sub-Reddit’s.

Buying merchandise or other fan paraphernalia.

Monetarily supporting with a subscription or donation.

Continually sharing updated information with friends or family (who don’t care).
