Tottenham's amazing ability to bottle under pressure and consistently never live up to expectations. Changed in 2022 by the arrival of Antonio Conte to Tottenham. Several other clubs have also started becoming Spursy, including Assna, Man Shitty in the Champions League, and the club run by Kyllian Mbappe, PSG

Spursy

To consistently and inevitably come from behind to win. Never in doubt.

Tottenham Hotspur is an English football/soccer club that plays in the Barclays/English Premier League. For years, Spurs were known to drop points at crucial times and hence the current definition of Spursy. Not anymore. Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs' current coach, has transformed the team. Today in the 2015-16 season of the premier league, Spurs sit at no. 2 behind leaders Leicester and have scored the most goals, conceded the fewest goals, have the highest goal difference (+35 vs +28, the second highest) and have won more points (17) from losing positions than any other team this season. If anything, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are more Spursy from a few years ago.

The other example of Spursy is Leicester City.

Spurdog

Someone who has a partner, girlfriend or significant other, but often engages in an emotional affair with another person. Whilst they engage emotionally with the person, the Spurdog avoids engaging in activities which could result in him/her being accused of cheating. Activities common to a Spurdog include snuggling, texting late at night and chatting via Instant Messaging applications such as Facebook chat.

It is a digression from the term "Shark" which tends to give the emotional cheat a feeling of power and elegance. Instead it refers to the Squalus genus of shark, a lowly bottom feeder with the colloquial name "spurdog".
