(n) A condition whereby you forget everything that is relevant in real life because you are so engrossed by events happening on Facebook/Twitter/gaming/email/SMS etc.

Dan was so distracted by his textual flirtation with June whilst bidding on ebay that he completely forgot it was his mother's birthday and his sister's graduation ceremony. It's not the first time his media amnesia has got him into trouble.

Office Amnesia

Call centers and contact centers seem to take great delight in moving their people around before they have a chance to get comfortable in one place thus moving their agents to a new desk location on an ad hoc basis. Office amnesia is simply a temporary state of forgetfullness where you can't remember where you are sitting and end up turning back to go a different route. Its duration commonly lasts only a couple of seconds but very irritating. This usually follows a visit to the bathroom, vending machine, printer or photocopier.

Me: You look lost
Sam: I can't remember where i'm sitting now i've moved desks
Me: That's Office Amnesia - its only temporary... until you move desks again.

Facebook Amnesia

A state of confusion found while looking through your news feed and seeing posts from facebook friends that you can't even remember adding. not remembering why they are connected to you, where they came from, where they live, or in what capacity you've met them in real life.

upon viewing his news feed he sat back bewildered, asking himself “who the hell are all these people? i don't remember any of them!” he realized he was suffering from facebook amnesia.

fridge amnesia

The act of checking ones fridge for nibbles/munch not finding anything checking the entire kitchen then going back to fridge hoping something has appeared.
This act is most likely performed several times before settling for a less favourable snack of giving up entirely.

Lillian: what's Agatha doing?
Doris: she has fridge amnesia again.
lillian: that's forth time tonight
Agatha : damn it ill have to have an apple

Short term amnesia that occurs when a man is being nagged by a woman. The man experiences no recollection of what the woman has said in the past time span of about 10 seconds before he can tune back in.

Chris experienced nagging amnesia when talking to Kate and completely blocked out the fact that it was her grandma's birthday that day after her just saying it.
