Like many things in life, you are told not to do and sometimes it is for the best. We should continue to value the legacy of skating and carry on with the joke. The history behind the Mall Grab is simply a great amount of “poser” skaters who have no intent on getting on the board and shredding. Any real skater knows that he will mall grab by accident every now and again.

Their purpose is to loiter with others of same age, for the purpose of socializing. They frequent malls because they're at the age where they're too young to be employed or to be driving, yet too old to remain at home away from friends. Mallbrats can form cliques within said environment. Summer season is a time when they are found in greater numbers, since school is no longer in session.
