Me: "What thing?"
Friend: "a racing sim with vr support BUT I GOTTA TEST IT OUT FIRST."

Self hate

According to Washington, D.C., clinical psychologist Dana Harron, the things people hate about others are the things that they fear within themselves. She suggests thinking about the targeted group or person as a movie screen onto which we project unwanted parts of the self. The idea is, “I'm not terrible; you are.”

This phenomenon is known as projection, a term coined by Freud to describe our tendency to reject what we don’t like about ourselves. Psychologist Brad Reedy further describes projection as our need to be good, which causes us to project "badness" outward and attack it.

auto-hate

To automatically hate because of a person's social status, neighborhood or school. This term is usually reserved for the more privileged in society.

I went to Westmont High, but I tell people I grew up in the South lands so they don't auto-hate me.

A phrase used to acknowledge individual superiority in the face of negative external accusations. Can be repeated twice for emphasis. Often accompanied by a strutting walk away from offending party.

Robert: "Lisa called you a whore."

James: "Haters gonna hate, man. Haters gonna hate."

pet hate

A minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to them, to a greater degree than others may find it.

I absolutely hate watching myself on TV, it's one of my pet hates.
