drive by check-in

when you 'check in' using the Facebook Places facility, but you are not actually at the place you checked into.

This could be to fool people into thinking you are in one location when you are in fact in a different location close by.

You might also do this to appear cool on facebook by checking into exciting sounding locations. It allows a person to 'check into' a bar or club near where they live, when they are in fact at home in bed.

You might also check in whilst in a car.... driving past a location. hence the definition of drive by check-in

A. Hey Amy.... just seen that you checked into "Sonic bar and Club"??

B. No i'm actually at the home.... did a cheeky check in at Sonic on my way past!

A. HAHA a drive by check-in you sly dog!

Similar to a drive-by shooting or drive-by, except as a sign of superiority, fruit is thrown because the victim is too afraid to attack the aggressor, and hence is not worthy of a bullet.

Drive-by heckle

When you are talking to either a single person or a group of people and you happen to crack a joke; that joke leads to the drive-byheckle: a total stranger happens to walk past and puts their two-cents (usually a cheesy pun) into what you just said.

Jack: ...what if in the future, making fun of someone for their age was illegal?

Large lady: It should be illegal NOW! (walks away)

Drive By Friending

When someone you haven't spoken to in years sends you a friend request on Facebook, but doesn't bother to ever say "hello" or ask how you've been. When someone friend requests you on Facebook clearly only to increase their number of friends, and then there is no further contact.

"Man, this chick I went to high school with totally just did a drive by friending on me. She could at least say hi."
