Feachurning

The act of incessantly churning out software features that nobody ever asked for under the delusion that that is the solution to all problems ever. Often, such features are solutions looking for problems. It is usually seen in software companies where the person or people in charge are so far detached from reality that their lack of intuitive understanding of the problem space and ignorance manifest as a never ending stream of pointless features, generally on the UI, that slowly corrode the software.

I wish the flashlight app stopped feachurning to become a social network, payments, banking, and crypto trading app, all rolled into one.

Why fletch?

An overused phrase in the MMORPG Oldschool Runescape during fights against the Wintertodt boss. Only newcomers and trolls use it.

Wintertodt is a group boss for which there is even a special server, world 309. At all times there are hundreds of players playing against Wintertodt. The boss is killed by feeding burning braziers with logs that can additionally be fletched for more reward points with the cost of decreased experience. Experience is commonly more valued, which leads inexperienced players into asking why so many fletch logs. The overused question is commonly parodised by asking: "Why fletch?"

Player 1: "How do I get enough points for a crate?"
Player 2: "Dood fletch"
Player 3: "Why fletch?"

Player A: "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
Player B: "Joel on Skype"
Player C: "Why fletch?"

Tom Fletcher is a guitarist/singer in McFly that hides many interesting and beneficial qualities behind his calm composure. His claim to fame through McFly is only a small portion of The Amazing running through his blood. Tom’s heart is as good as gold and his kindness and generosity portrays him as a positive role-model to some of the band’s younger fans. Tom’s uniquely geeky sense of humor and intelligence separates him from the stereotypical idea of a pop star, therefore widening people’s eyes and opening their minds to a new version of the status quo.

All in all, there should be more Tom Fletcher’s in the world.
