Driet

Low Saxon word meaning shit. Often used as a prefix to any noun, to express unhappiness on the subject.
Also used as a verb, to say you're having a dump. Same origins and use as the Norwegian word dritt.

prefix:
drietbook = shit-book (stupid book)
drietzak = shit-bag (asshole)

verb:
"Man, you've been in there for ages, what are you doing in that toilet?"
- "drieten!" (shitting, having a dump)

Driet

The Driet is a drinking diet. The Driet is designed to help reduce alcohol intake if a person thinks he/she may be drinking in excess. Just like a food diet, the Driet is not about giving up alcohol altogether, but about developing a better understanding of drinking and reducing alcohol intake to a more healthy level.

Person 1: Why are you only having one glass of wine tonight?
Person 2: Because I’m on the Driet

The Smith Zhou Diet

A diet that involves putting on weight, but at a lower rate than if they didn’t follow the diet and ate whatever they liked. Followers of the Smith Zhou diet eat whatever they like but make each meal slightly healthier than it could be. For example French fries without ketchup, cake without icing, or 23 donuts instead of 24. When followers of the diet put on weight they have excuses such as water retention or faulty scales. This diet requires little discipline and can be followed by anyone who is delusional enough to think it might work.

I’m on the Smith Zhou diet and I’ve not lost any weight, I don’t understand! It must be water retention.

Diet-inspired diabetes

When the glamourous lifestyle you aspire to includes donuts, sugary drinks, and large portions, you are bound to develop "diet-inspired diabetes"

This is different from "diet controlled diabetes" (as this type suggests you make at least a feeble effort to control your diet.)

Diet-inspired diabetics are drawn to each other and often need to pool their resources in later life to pay for wheelchair ramps and prosthetic limbs.

One such club is known as the DOLAAT's ("Dying One Limb At A Time"). Such a popular club that there are chapters of DOLAATs in every nursing home across North America.

Man, those folks are in rough shape but they look so happy eating all those treats. I'm inspired to get diet-inspired diabetes too so I can join the DOLAAT club. I can't wait to wear a too-tight white T-shirt and have wheelchair races with them!

New Year's diet

A diet that one begins after New Year's Day. A person can either go on a New Year's diet as part of a New Year's resolution to eat healthier and/or lose weight, or simply for the purpose of losing a few holiday pounds. New Year's diets generally work best when combined with frequent, intense exercise.

I've probably gained five to ten pounds since Thanksgiving, so tomorrrow I'll be starting my New Year's diet. That means zero meat until February, as little junk food as possible, and medium-sized portions only. I also plan on hitting the gym at least three times a week.
