DUK is the abbreviation for the Dis United Kingdom. It is derived from the solidly established "UK" (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) which is no longer part of the European Union. Northern Ireland is presently very problematic with its legal status as being part of the UK even though separated from it by sea and yet it is land-attached to The Republic of Ireland, which IS a member of the European Union. This brings serious difficulties with import/Export protocols as well as horrendous political problems. At the same time, Scotland seems hell-bent on leaving the UK and England is tearing itself apart internally with massive polarization over unsustainable immigration, abortion on demand and the worst racism it has ever experienced. Hence the need to sometimes substitute "DUK", which could also represent the "Doomed United Kingdom" or the "Disintegrating United Kingdom".
The DUK is a classic example of a once great world power that has been and still is gradually disintegrating into small, independent sub-states.
