A guy or girl who is attractive enough that if they showed up at your doorstep, you would have sexual relations with them and not turn them away. But they are not attractive enough to where you would go out of your way to pursue them

Downsteppers refers to the ancient greek and roman languages.
In greek it ment prosperous young men on the hunt.
The romans weren't that happy to be visited by a group of downsteppers at that time; we understand > it would have been a bunch of nasty-naughty scumbags flirting with every woman viusible in a room except for their own ones
