pseudo-intellectual 

It's hard to define this word. Basically a pseudo-intellectual is originally an average person who have the ability to absorb information but unable to do anything with it.

A pseudo-intellectual isn't exactly dumb, but he/she certainly isn't on par with a truly intelligent person.

A truly intelligent person understands "pattern", he doesn't need to read the newspaper on a daily basis to know what's happening around the globe, but rather he can accurately predict what would happen in a period of time. (This is exactly how people like Darwin was able to come up with Evolution, things come in pattern).

Characteristics of a pseudo-intellectual:

- Bragging about what college he is going to without giving a good legitimate reason. (Someone went to Cornell just to get a teaching degree)

- Using big words and foreign words in his/her writing or daily language in an un-necessary amount. (Someone who describes himself as a proponent of "independent citizens' movement")

- Inclined to join an Extremist Political Faction (Both right & left)

- See my 2nd point, except he/she lists a LARGE amount of bands/books/quotes in his biographies on his/her Facebook page.

- Being a Grammar Nazi (because they are too snobby and profound to understand what you've said when you left out the 's' at the end of a plural noun).

- Name is more important than inner quality (e.g. someone who claims Einstein as the Greatest scientist ever lived but doesn't know what he did.)

I used to be a pseudo-intellectual but I've realized how 'stupid' it made you look.

People who constantly refer to cracked.com as the source of their references, opinions, beliefs, or information. Usually accompanied with a tone of undeserved superiority.

"How do you know that?"

"You'd know it too if you read cracked.com. I'm probably the first person who ever discovered cracked.com and started reading it. I'm also probably their biggest fan."

Implying the false display intelligence, this is a term correctly applied to people who lie about their own intellectual background, claim to have studied matters they haven't, to have read books they haven't, et cetera.

A great majority of Internet users, however, are fond of using the term incorrectly to, often anti-intellectually, refer to those whose phraseology annoys them.

'Dude! Dude hey!'

'What is it, Dan?'

'Dude, that guy said a weird word. He is such a pseudo-intellectual.'

'You're a fucking idiot, Dan.'

The person's username indicates what a pseudo-intellectual that he or she is and the fact that he is gay and thirsty for wanting to be fucked so badly.

Pseudo-Intellectual 

They're self-proclaimed intellectuals who try to make themselves look smart by replacing common words with words that not many people know. They would google things like "Others words to use instead of good" and use big words so they sound smart when arguing internet strangers and would forget the definition 5 minutes later. They usually have the same IQ as their shoe size.

Someone who tries way too hard to be smart by presenting false facts that they got from the first result they Googled/YouTubed and bragging way too much about how smart they are. Many pseudo-intellectuals also use terms like "woke", "red-pilled", "sheep/sheeple", and "third-eye" and also think that doing LSD and Coke makes them a genius. Will often go against popular opinions/ideas (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but will do so without any reason other than wanting to stand out. Looks down on everyone who isn't them or who doesn't fall for their bullshit. Very insecure. See: Conspiracy Theorist & Narcissist.

Guy #1: I'm wise beyond my years man, I'm only 18 and I know everything about religion, politics, business, and life.
Guy #2: *thinks "Wow, what a fucking douche-bag."* Uh, good for you I guess. Kinda odd to say you're wise beyond your years but okay.
Guy#1: Its true, by the end of this year I'll be a millionaire and I'll laugh at everyone wasting their time at bullshit jobs. I opened my third-eye and became red-pilled as fuck from doing acid so many times.
Guy #2 and Everyone else he says this bullshit to: Yeah....okay bud. *thinking "This guy's annoying Jesus Christ".*

The pseudo-intellectual is a strange breed, most people can recognize one a mile-away but some people fall for their bullshit because some are very charming.
