(proz) n. 1. a supposedly sophisticated way to insult someone else's attempts to write poetry, 2. on IRC #poetry channels the way one lets other people know one considers what they presented as a poem did not meet the minimum standard.
"... but is that really poetry? It seems more like prose."
prose by Lane May 2, 2004
A poem that doesn't make any sense.

Example of a prose: hire a candle to make tables that wear plaid shirts. The candles look like bandaids, and the watermelons will be pleased.

prose-yak

Poorly-written, non-lyrical poetry -- which you should never listen to while driving, or operating heavy machinery.
I tried to stay focused, but after a half-hour of that never-ending prose-yak, my brain switched to Stand By.

prose before hos

The choice of the written word over the lowliest ho.
Ray: I was going to go out with this skank last night, but I decided to stay in for a hot date with the Atlantic Monthly instead. I chose prose before hos.

Prose Vomit

When you need to expel pent-up emotions and you do it with an attempt at creatively written words.
Jen had no one to share her feelings with so she turned to her journal and prose vomited out her heart — and found some relief.

prose and cons

Refers to the overall subject of the "entertaining 'n' informative" written material authored by deceitful shysters in an attempt to trick us into trusting them.
Some people think the Bible is a sacred text that should be followed without question, but I view it as just a classic example of prose and cons, with the biggest con-man being the narcissistic God Himself.
