dead end job

1, Low wage/sub-living wage job for which there is little potential for advancement in the job, accumulating wealth, or in one's life.
2. A job with high risk to health and welfare, lack of concern for the safety of the worker especially during a pandemic or times when labor and public health/environmental laws are not being enforced. The job has very limited benefits except to the employer.

He was desperate when he took the dead end job during the pandemic, but he had no idea how quickly and badly it would end for so many of his co-workers.

paddling

The act of paddling a canoe or kayak.

Larry: Hey Anne, do you want to go paddling with me?

Anne: Where are you thinking of going?

Larry: The Ichetucknee River it is a clear spring river run that goes into the Santa Fe River, I think you'll love it?

Anne: Sure!

too big to be punished

Powerful interests that are not subjected to normal legal proceedings, but instead are allowed to settle out of court and out of criminal charges, and keep their profits. In rare cases where prosecution and related settlements are even attempted, they seem outrageously small in relation to huge profits and the blatant disregard for the law by the perpetrators. Many would be easy to prosecute because the evidence is well documented by a large paper trail, and has thousands of potential witnesses that support the prosecutors case.

In many cases the "too bigs...." are responsible for massive amounts of damage to the economy and creating devastating personal losses for hundreds of thousands of people.

The banks have developed a fail safe way of robbing and defrauding their customers and tax payers, by pleading they are too big to fail, and too big to be punished.

driving while intexticated

Driving while text messaging. In many cases it is more dangerouse than driving while under the influence, because the drivers are distracted and have a much slower response time. It is illegal in some states like Utah, because of the carnage created by text messangers.

Judy got arrested for driving while intexticated after she killed 3 people when she was sending a text message. Fortunately everupme got the message but it was not the one Judy sent.

Allowlist

An allowlist is a directory of specific elements that are allowed, e.g. email addresses, IP addresses or URLs etc.

An allowlist has the same meaning as a whitelist in computer and tech industry.

Allowlist like block list are much more intuitive and descriptive than whitelist and blacklist and don't have subliminal racist associations- blacklist = block and whitelist = allow.

An affectionate nickname for a person who is kind and loving but has a dominating and controling personality.

Bulldozer.

Boogozer

A guy who comes back to his home town after being gone for 10 years and stumbles on what used to be a beautiful and undeveloped beach that has recently been covered with tacky development and private property signs:
"The things you see without your boogozer."
