Definitions by QuacksO

Stands for "Obsessive Conversation-Contribution Disorder". Refers to where someone feels an irresistible urge to join in on a discussion and "add his two cents" during a break in a conversation, even if the speakers are not addressing him and the topics in said conversation have nothing whatever to do with him.
Sometimes a person with apparent OCCD is merely feeling lonesome or "left out" a lot of the time; joining one or more social groups can often go a long way to alleviate these unhappy feelings and reduce the resulting symptoms.

Murphy's Law of Engine-Idling Duration

"If you leave your vehicle's engine running during a delay in proceeding (traffic-jam, road construction, accident-resolution, "stuck" red signal-light, etc.), you will be sitting there for many minutes, just wasting gas. The instant you turn the key off and climb out of your seat to stretch, however, THAT'S when the line of traffic will begin moving again, and thus you will have shut off your engine "for nothing", AND you will now be holding up everyone behind you while you hastily hop back into the driver's seat and re-start the engine so that you can move forward again."
I finally took da plunge and bought a second-hand Toyota Prius because I'd eventually had one too many cases of Murphy's Law of Engine-Idling Duration... the Prius automatically shuts down its power during stand-stills, and then uses its electric motor to provide instant mobility as soon as you're ready to go again.

"spicy" weather-temps forecast

The weatherman smilingly gave a really "spicy" weather-temps forecast on the radio today, and so I just **assumed** (yeah, I know, I know... never a good idea!) that the wind was gonna be pleasantly scented with yummy delectable barbecue-flavors for a couple days. But it's actually had very little odor at all during this period, just as plain old ordinary air usually does... what a disappointment!

Imus learn some better manners

What "The Don" should have said to himself before he ever became a radio personality.
It actually took a debate with Al Sharpton to get "The BIG I" to admit that, "Imus learn some better manners" --- yeah, no s**t, Sherlock!

scandleous

Publicly-humiliating with regards to something involving wax-and-wick light-emitters.
I hear that the local museum "updated" its "genuine 'n' authentic" 19th-century chandelier with electric bulbs --- how scandleous!

obsolession

A fanatical interest in outdated items and/or technology.
Truth be told, obsolession isn't necessarily always an invalid/unwise practice --- if you "keep an eye on the trends" and then wait till some item you want is no longer "current", you may be able to purchase it for pennies on the dollar, or perhaps even get it for free if a retailer or company is simply tossing all its old stock.

"soft drink" water-saver rule

The disgusting "mellow/yellow" procedure practiced during water-shortages, or implemented to lower your consumption of pay-per-gallon city-water.
Rather than practicing the "soft drink" water-saver rule to save on my utility-bills, I collect rainwater in buckets outside, and then use that some of the time to flush my toilet.
