1) A suffix in the names of Asian Muslim nations and peoples, including former several Soviet republics and current republics of the Russian Federation: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkestan, Tatarstan, Kurdistan. From Persian -stân "place". 2) A superfluous suffix to a place name in general: New Yorkistan, Californistan, Texastan.

Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan.

A mating call said by gay men to Navy personnel and other sea-faring individuals.

I wouldn't say he's gay, but I could hear him mutter "hello sailor" a couple times last summer in Corpus Christi.

FZ

Frank Zappa (1940-1993), American experimental rock composer and guitarist, known for one hit, "Valley Girl", his original band Mothers of Invention, and his anti-censorship activism in the 1980s (even testifying at a Senate hearing during the height of the PMRC).

I've been wondering what the lead guitarist has been playing lately, it's been weird. Must be one of his FZ stints.
