(n) A condition whereby you forget everything that is relevant in real life because you are so engrossed by events happening on Facebook/Twitter/gaming/email/SMS etc.

Dan was so distracted by his textual flirtation with June whilst bidding on ebay that he completely forgot it was his mother's birthday and his sister's graduation ceremony. It's not the first time his media amnesia has got him into trouble.

anecdate

A date that is so incredibly awful that the only reason you don't walk out is so that you can describe the scene in detail to your friends for years to come.

Although Craig was possibly the most outrageously boring man she had ever been on a date with, Alice felt that she had to stay until the end as it would at least make an amazing anecdate to tell her friends about afterwards.

Welish

Someone who has, or claims to have Welsh blood in them but isn't truely Welsh.

Catherine often tries to make herself sound more interesting by claiming to be Welsh. However since her mother comes from Croydon, she can only claim to be Welish at best.

Jay had only been on the beach for 3 days with moderate sun exposure, but already his skin colour gave the impression that he'd been in Hawaii for a month. He was an extremely tanented sunbather.

To withdraw early from a social event, citing domestic commitments as the cause. Derived from the common expression 'pull a whitey' used to describe those who crash out after drink/drugs.

Ever since he got married, Simon has been known to pull a wifey on several occasions, leaving the pub and all his friends mid-session, saying he has to get back to the missus.
