hallucinations of seeing human figures out of the corner of one's eyes after being awake too long and overstimulated; used as a more Politically-correct and less evasive term than "shadow people", which immediately suggests hallucination to the listener.

i swear the tina bunnies were acting up last night. I kept thinking there were like four people in my bedroom when i was alone!
