the scuttlebutt: rumor/gossip. It's actually a nautical term for a cask used to serve water for immediate consumption. Sailors would gossip around the scuttlebutt while congregating for a drink of water.

A colloquial phrase that can be used in various ways deviating from the literal translation, "rape the fart".
