The Button

The Button that appeared on reddit.com/r/thebutton on April 1 2015, which divided Redditors into more than 20 different "religions," ranging from those who have never heard of the button, to those that pushed the button as soon as they saw it, to those who have sworn to never press the button. Next to the button there is a timer counting down from 60 seconds. Each user may press the button only once, and when pressed the timer resets to 60 seconds for everybody. Nobody yet knows what will happen when the timer reaches zero.
"Hey, have you pressed the button yet?"
"No, I heard that everyone who hasn't pressed it when it reaches zero gets reddit gold!"

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
