running joke

A candidate for office that either intentionally or unintentionally is a complete and utter joke.

Example: Donald Trump

Person 1: "I'm not sure which is the bigger running joke this presidential race: Deez Nuts or Trump..."
Person 2: "Are you high!? Obviously Trump!"
