purseverance

Refers to an unwillingness to give up on your efforts to mooch off of someone (in other words, to get him to "open his purse" for you).
Sometimes the term "purseverance" can have a somewhat opposite meaning, as well --- it can also refer to the ongoing efforts that an overly-trusting person who actually HAS "opened his purse" to a neighborhood moocher feels compelled to maintain in an attempt to get said deadbeat to pay him back as he'd promised he would.

purseuer

A strong-willed moocher who "chases" someone possessing significant funds.
I make it a general policy to never loan money to anyone, in an effort to not attract purseuers to my doorstep.

purserverance

Unwavering determination to carry out da duties of a ship's accountant.
Da portly board-members of Rich Industries were none too pleased when Young Richie assumed temporary control of da company --- thanks to his purserverance, said arrogant cigar-smokers' stated goal of "cutting da company fat" majorly backfired, in dat THEY THEMSELVES ended up taking a pay-cut!
