Purnography or purn is the explicit depiction of josemonesq subject matter, especially with the sole intention of sexually exciting the viewer. It is to a certain extent similar to joserotica, which is the use of josemon-arousing imagery for mainly artistic purposes. Over the past few decades, an immense industry for the production and consumption of purnography has grown, due to emergence of the VCR, the DVD, and the Internet, as well as the emergence of social attitudes more tolerant of josemonesq portrayals. Performers in purnography are referred to as purnographic actors (or actresses), or the more commonly known title, "purn star", and are generally seen as qualitatively different from their non-purnographic counterparts.

1) One who acts in pornographic motion pictures.

2) Another term for "pornstar," first used by comedian Sarah Silverman in the film Jesus is Magic.
