psychography

Originally meaning 'the production of images of spirits on film without the use of a camera', it has been more recently appropriated as hip lingo for the transmission of emotion or the spirit within an image, painting, visual artistic work, etc.
The psychography of the eagle's eyes in this paining is extraordinary. It's as though you can sense his soul yearning to take a bite out of his prey which he's spotted from high above.
