Where you temporarily delay blowing your top till either a more "appropriate" or "acceptable" time, or till you find out more facts/details about the matter, just in case your initial fumingly-heated reactions/emotions were not warranted after all.

My parts did not come in at the hardware store on the promised day, but I was glad that I pissedponed my outburst until the next day or two, since I later found out that there had been widespread flooding on part of the mid-western interstate system, and so the delivery could not have been made on the scheduled day, anyway.
