A pipe shot is a ball thrown to a batter by a pitcher directly down the middle, with the intent on providing the batter with an easy ball to hit hard and/or far.

Boy, that pipeshot Wainwright threw Derek Jeter was right down the middle. He's dumber than his own insufferable fan base!
