When you get destroyed and humiliated in a First Person Shooter video-game (i.e. Team Fortress 2) and you trash talk your opponents to evoke the same feeling of the frustration of a loss. It is also sometimes done to protect the victim's ego from the reality that they got absolutely destroyed by a player deemed worse than them. The trash talk usually includes a statement that they are the worst competitive subdivision of the video-game (i.e. Open division in Team Fortress 2) and the use of random slurs.
