Performance activism

When someone uses a “woke” cause to ensure their social media following knows that they care... when actually, all they care about is their influencer status and the amount of like they’ll get.
“Hey, have you seen that Guy is constantly posting about this cause on his feed?”
“Yeah, of course... they have to at least LOOK like they care. Performance activism is his forte. That’s perfect follower material, right there!”

performance activism

When a person/group jumps on a political bandwagon in order to keep up appearances.
“Hey, have you seen her posts about BLM?”
“Yeah she’s sharing everything she comes across, so annoying.”
“Yeah man, perfect example of performance activism - how embarrassing.”

church hurt
