Maladaption

noun: failure or refusal to assimilate into a new environment or society

Western societies that tolerate barbaric 3rd world customs within their territory is an example of a maladaption.

In the movie STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT, when the Federation defeated the Borg, that was a maladation -- at least from the perspective of the Borg (who I supported).
