lawyerly

Adverb -- Behaving in a manner that results in long-winded, self-aggrandizing and often esoteric explanations that communicate little or no decisive legal advice on which to act.
I asked my lawyer a simple question to which he didn't know the answer, so instead of some straightforward advice, he got all lawyerly on me.
