a Facebook relationship status in which a person is too scared to say that their relationship has ended and doesn't want to be known as "single" yet. This also happens when a couple is taking a "break", but will eventually break up soon.

a phrase people use when they are unsure of their love life and fall under one or more of these categories:
- they aren't sure whether they want to be friends or in a relationship with the person
- they are clinging on to an ending/toxic relationship
- they are afraid of being called single

im not sure if he likes me or not so i just tell people "its complicated" when they ask me my relationship status
