(n) (1) The politically and morally incorrect act of ascribing phrases like "
gender apartheid" (Masih Alinejad), "rape culture" (Yasmine Mohammed), "
letterbox" (Boris Johnson) etc. to the noble piece clothing called Hijab (and its purer versions like Niqaab) instead of associating it with "power, liberation, beauty, and
resistance."
(2) The immodest act of removing one's hijab in public, encouraging others to do so, or defending in court women who are accused of those crimes in Islamic regimes (Nasrin Sotoudeh).
When Maryam Mirzakhani - the first female
mathematician to receive Fields Medal - died at the age of 40 in 2017, Nike made a brave and laudable
decision to hide her Ilhanophobia by
sketching her in a hijab.
