hurricane party

A tradition of the south to hold a get-together before or during a hurricane in which large quantities of alcohol are consumed. This is because there will most likely be nothing else to do during the hurricane, due to the lack of electricity.
"Dude, hurricane Katrina is coming. Let's throw a hurricane party!"
"I dunno if thats a good idea its suppose to.."
"Nah It'll be fine!"

Hurricane Party

A term for when someone with relative popularity uses an announcement of a negative occurrence to advertise or promote merchandise or creations, making the announcement seem less sincere. Can be seen as a form of guilt-tripping. Coined after a Roblox game developer added Hurricane Party to the name of their game and begged for players while announcing they were about to be struck by a hurricane.
Description for Galaxy, a Roblox game with 200 active players, as of August 29th, 2021: Help, I am in the direct path of a category 4 hurricane, it is too late to escape. Please honor me by playing my game once in your life.
Γ (Gamma) is the third letter in the Greek Alphabet, indicating Galaxy is in it's third development stage. Alpha, Beta, Gamma.
You have found one of the best games on all of Roblox. It is the culmination of many, many years of hard work and innumerable contributions by the community. It may not be on the front page, but that is because young children often cannot appreciate such a complex game and Roblox chooses not to promote it.

Viewer: What a hurricane party.

hurricane party

Occasion that occurs in the south during the event of a Hurricane. Alcohol and other drugs are likely to be consumed at this party. The host of the party invites people, not only to party with but to help clean out his freezer and refrigerator before power goes out and the host's food rots and goes to waste.
"Hurricane party at my place! Alcohol check! Fully stocked refrigerator and freezer from WalMart not even three days ago check...fuck my life!"

Hurricane Party

haha, yes but it's a private party. there will be food such as canned fruit, air-sealed bread, and drinks such as bottled water and 3 cans of soda. music will be pumping from the headphones from my iPod for a period of no longer than 3 seconds until it dies. all partyers who leave disabled will be accompanied to the closest FEMA tent.
I'm having a hurricane party for Earnesto!

hurricane party light

A small battery operated light that is not that bright enough and is the only light you have to rely on during a hurricane party for 2 days. And you're hoping that the battery does not go dead during the hurricane party. Also did not light to whole room. a crappy lantern.

During a hurricane the power was out and all I had was a hurricane party light at night for 2 days.

The word 'flag' as pronounced by people with thick Belfast accents. The term is a perfect encapsulation of the disproportionate and overblown reaction to the removal of the Union Jack (as in 'de fleg') from above City Hall in Belfast. Where previously it had flown for 365 days per year, it is now flown on 17 designated days of the year - in line with many other British cities.

The event caused a portion of the Protestant community ('fleggers') to make international pricks of themselves as they proceeded to wreck the fucking place, claiming it was another erosion of a 'British' identity they perceive to have been under attack since the horrifying spectre of equality reared its head in Northern Ireland.

The word 'fleg' - and indeed 'fleggers' - fittingly describes a section of humanity unconcerned with knowledge, reality or the vagaries of the English language. Like America's tea-baggers they are ruled by instinct, fear and paranoia with a side dish of rampant bigotry and startling ignorance of the world around them.
"Wat de fuck like! The taigs got de fleg took down! Let's wreck de fuckin place! No surrender!"

"De fleg has been took down! Before ye know it there'll be a united Ireland! Attack Short Strand! God Save The Queen!"
