When you or your buddies try and smoke everything left in the bowl after its been passed around and there's nothing left but ash. Usually stoners who hit ass aren't smoked out enough and don't have enough to buy another bowl. Hitting ass may get you a tiny bit higher, but you'll also get a mouthful of tasty, black Scooby snacks.
Hitting Ass:
"Bro there's nothing left in that bowl"
"Nah man we can still hit some of that"
"Dude you aren't baked enough yet?"
"Not quite"
"Haha you must be broke as shit to be hitting that ass"
