Function: Verb
Etymology: Canadian, particular to rural areas, especially Lanark County Ontario and most of Alberta; An amalgam of the words give and her; made popular by movie "FUBAR"
1. Going all out and/or balls to the wall to take care of business as quickly and as awesomely as possible
2. Acting in a way that is like you're rocking out really hard, but at the same time, trying to solve a problem that may or may not involve drop-kicking something without hesitation

When you're trying to get your politics paper done before the office closes and plan how you're going to get drunk later on that night, and you've only got 45 minutes left to figure out both problems, and you're so pumped up that you might drop-kick your roommate because he ate all of your peanut butter - you just give'r!

Verb used across English speaking Canada since the early 1970's with roots in the Western Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta meaning 1) to work very hard. 2) to get wasted and rock as hard as possible. 3) To finish a job or task in an efficient and quick manner.
The word is currently enjoying a surge in popularity since the release of the movie FUBAR and is now used frequently in an ironic or lowbrow way.
Past tense usage combines the present participle and the past tense of "to be".

"As soon as Odjick gets out of the penalty box, you know he's just gonna drop the gloves on Domi and just give'r again"

"Dave and I were given'er last night right up to the time of the puck drop before we realized the game was on pay per view. "

A philosophy used by many small town Canadian kid's, orginating from the movie Fubar. Usually used as a verb to express what you're going to do in a given evening. When you do "give'r", thing's can get rough.
