gentwit

Share definition Flag
A group of people who share a common perspective which believes any problem can be defined by a signle variable and then demands that everyone besides themselves afjusts their life to "fix" the problem.
AOC is such a GenTwit. The other day she talked about banning fossil fuel cars and encouraging electrical cars as part of her green plan to save the Earth. She thinks switching to electric produces less carbon because she ignores the full lifecycle carbon footprint of the electric car. If she did, she would see it produces not only more carbon but also more hazardous waste. Just look it up YouTube before the videos get removed or supressed by followers of Bidenism.

Getwit

Share definition Flag
A person who follows the crowd and does what everybody else is doing as a way to fit in or be cool.

Getwits wont forge their own path.

Slightly different from a copy cat. A copy cat will duplicate another person. If you wear all black? They will wear all black. While a getwit will "Get Wit" whatever allows them to fit in with the masses or their peers even if it doesnt suit them to do so.

For Example:
A copy cat will by the exact same Ford car another person buys right down to the floor mats. Because they are possibly unsure about what to buy.

While a getwit might buy a Ford simply because everybody else likes Fords, even tho they dont really like Ford cars.

They will listen to a genre of music because its popular to listen to it... when they actually like another genre.

The difference is a copy cat tries to imitate, while a getwit is trying to fit in with the crowd.
"Last week he said he hates when people sag their pants. But yesterday when I seen him at the party around John Doe's crew?? He had his pants practically around his ankles. Dude is such a Getwit!"

Striver

Share definition Flag
The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.

Successful strivers:

- Harold Koh
