extrapyulation 

The process of constructing new data points outside a discrete set of known data points. It is nearly identical to the the process of extrapolation.

With this sample data, and through extrapyulation, we can come up with a reasonable idea of how much storage each server will require.

anal extrapolation 

Pulling something (a number, estimate, fact, stat, idea) out of your ass. Used when sufficient data either doesn't exist, or you're too lazy to do the research.

Hey, Bill. I don't have time to pull together an actual project estimate for you, so let me apply a little anal extrapolation to get you some numbers.
