The orginal dialogue was first used in the Simbhu starrer Vannam and has been used ever since, most notably by members of facebook group CND.
Since then the phrase has become a frequenter in many tamil conversations and was subsequently abbreviated and moved in to the sms and facebook comment lingo. It is usually used to express displeasure/unhappiness about their life and also jealous about others life.
