Electronic view finder. Is the term used to describe cameras that look like SLR's in terms of size, weight, and price, but functions like a point-and-shoot. Usually wouldn't be worth the price, because there's no point in paying a lot for a heavy, look-alike camera when you can pay less for a smaller camera and achieve the same quality image. Usually called a "wanna- be SLR".
Guy 1: So I went to Best Buy and the guy that worked there told me that this is a professional SLR camera, so I paid 800 bucks for it.
Guy 2: Uh, that's an EVD. Priced like an SLR, functions like a 300 dollar camera.
