The man charged with second and third degree murder and second degree manslaughter in the death of
George Floyd. He was arrested on May 29, 2020, a week after
George Floyd's death. He spent 4 months locked up in prison until he was released in early October 2020 after posting bond. He is set to stand trial next year. Said trial will likely be the source of riots and violence no matter the outcome. In August of 2020, he was also charged with several unrelated tax felonies. He has a history of
excessive force incidents. We'll just have to see what the jury says
Derek Chauvin is charged with murder and manslaughter for
