Chaebong hyung are held in poor regard and frequently forced to take low paying jobs in sanitation and food service. They are widely mocked in the South Korean media and are among the least appealing suitors for a potential wife.

A South Korean term for a large family owned business conglomerate. Typically used in Kdramas, some famous Chaebol story lines are in the dramas "Boys Over Flowers", "The Heirs", "Secret Garden" and "Coffee Prince".
